Professionals, students invited to SAAHJ’s first media workshop

The San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists invites professionals and students in all fields of communication/media (print journalism, TV/broadcast, public relations, and blogging) to attend the “Changes In and Out of the Nation’s Newsrooms” Media Workshop on Saturday, March 7. Univision – San Antonio is hosting the workshop at their state-of-the-art studio. The workshop begins at 9 a.m.

The SAAHJ Media Workshop will feature news veterans, policy experts, and public relations professionals. Panel discussions will focus on the fluidity of our newsrooms, immigration, the challenges women face in excelling in the field, and how fewer journalists in newsrooms have made the field of public relations more challenging.

The workshop will conclude with a lunch and a keynote address delivered by Maria Antonieta Collinsan award-winning national Univision anchor who got her career started in San Antonio and will share the story of her success and the challenges she and her peers face in reporting.

Registration in advance is encouraged and can be done be online. The cost is $10 for students and $15 for professionals. Registration costs will increase for onsite registrations.
