SAAHJ President Laura Garcia Takes The Helm

In our special called meeting on Saturday, Feb. 6, election results were certified, making Laura Garcia our next president. She replaces Silvia Foster-Frau who recently started a new job with the Washington Post.

Laura is a native to the San Antonio area and a past SAAHJ scholarship recipient. She currently covers the health care industry for the San Antonio Express-News. Most recently, she served as SAAHJ treasurer and quickly became a strong leader for the organization. She is committed to the association’s philanthropic mission and wants to ensure that Hispanic journalists are given fair opportunities and access as they report vital stories.
